ID TECH Joins Voltage SecureData Open License Program

– September 21, 2010 – ID TECH®, a leading provider of automatic identification products and components, and Voltage Security™, the global leader in end-to-end data protection, today announced that ID TECH is implementing Voltage-powered end-to-end encryption with ID TECH’s wide range of point-of-sale financial transaction products and components including magnetic stripe, smart and contactless card readers, POS keyboards, signature capture devices, and secure PIN entry products used by thousands of customers worldwide through ID TECH’s extensive OEM and distribution network. ID TECH products are trusted by industry leaders such as NCR, Micros, HP, Red Box, Motorola and Ticketmaster to drive their payment solutions.

ID TECH also announced it is joining the Voltage SecureData™ Open License Program. The program is designed to lower the barriers to implementing end-to-end encryption across a wide variety of payment systems including: integrated business management platforms, POS devices, Electronic Cash Registers (ECRs), mobile payment devices and eCommerce payment platforms.

“We are working with Voltage to provide our customers and their end users with another level of protection for private and confidential information. By joining with Voltage, we are delivering a powerful and unique solution, bringing together the best of our hardware expertise with Voltage’s end-to-end encryption expertise for a complete, bundled solution,” said George Jiang, chief technology officer of ID TECH.

“ID TECH provides mission critical components across the payments industry and now, with the integration of Voltage, the manufacturers who are their customers can more easily build-in end-to-end encryption into their solutions,” said Doug Dwyre, vice president of business development for Voltage Security.

By using Voltage SecureData, ID TECH will provide its customers with a wider set of data protection solutions, incorporating end-to-end encryption and tokenization, which significantly reduces the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) audit scope and meets or exceeds the recently published Visa Best Practices for Data Field Encryption and Tokenization.

Powered by Voltage’s breakthrough Format-Preserving Encryption™ (Voltage FPE) and Voltage Identity-Based Encryption™ (Voltage IBE) technologies, which dramatically simplify the deployment and administration of encryption and key management, Voltage SecureData delivers the following advantages:

* Cardholder data is encrypted immediately at point of capture and remains protected end-to-end until card hand-off.

* Key management is simplified – no need to inject keys into devices or manually rotate encryption keys.

* End-to-end encryption can be applied across the widest range of form factors.

Voltage end-to-end payment security solutions are available integrated with a variety of hardware platforms and as a software-only implementation for e-commerce.
